Dr. Darleen Claire’s specialization in disordered attachment brings hope to families of infants, children, and youth who were adopted, in foster care, or who were placed with guardians or custodians who serve as primary caretakers. These children sometimes suffer from Reactive Attachment Disorder or RAD, Disinhibited Social Engagement Disorder or DSED, or developmental challenges that interfere with proper learning, behavior, and emotional regulation. Her Developmental Framework picks these children up where their developmental processes went awry, and slowly begins to set their developmental processes right again. Families now have hope of resolving some of the incredibly challenging phenomenon that are often associated with attachment disorder.

Another area of focus under the Orchard umbrella are services for children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dr. Darleen Claire has conducted extensive research into alternative modalities and approaches to improve the self-determination and life satisfaction of individuals who are neuro-atypical. In some cases, she offers direct services to the child while other times she consults with parents, educators, and other professionals. She also advocates for children who receive IEP services under IDEA as well as Section 504 Plan services under ADA.

The underlying theme among all of these services is Dr. Darleen Claire’s dedication to brain-based strategies to promote child learning, growth, and development. In addition to complex behavioral and socioemotional therapeutic strategies, she also offers biofeedback services to help children and young adults boost brain performance. Children in her programs or who receive direct services benefit from increased developmental skills and self-regulatory capacities that make them better able to learn, connect with others, and contribute as a member of society.
