Wonderful World of STEM / STEAM

Explore the exciting world of STEM / STEAM for children of all ability levels. Dr. Darleen Claire Wodzenski and Ms. Cheryl Safford worked together on a blended gifted and special needs STEM Summer Camp that led to this new book: Wonderful World of STEAM. Serving the Metro Atlanta area, children, families, and schools can invite the authors to speak at events or conduct parent, teacher, or school-wide training and professional development in the area of promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics across diverse learning populations. In addition to College Park, where Ms. Safford operates Kinder Kollege, Dr. Darleen Claire provides counseling, intervention, and advocacy services in Alpharetta, Marietta, Cumberland, and Hiram. Students with disabilities and learning problems must approach STEAM learning with intention, focus, and care. Students with learning or cognitive challenges require specialized support, many demonstrations and examples of good form, and ongoing support and differential feedback. When learning remains a challenge even when this extra support is offered, students may require a brain-based approach that will provoke the brain to have a neuroplastic response. A properly constructed brain-based intervention can allow children to learn and do things for the very first time ... and in most cases, the new skills will remain with them for a lifetime. Meanwhile, high ability and talented learners have the opportunity to engage in peer leadership and social learning experiences that promote broad learning, growth, and development across many personal domains as well as across the academic fields of STEM/STEAM. Learn about all this and more with the new thin book Wonder World of STEAM. Explore this and other exciting titles of books offered by Orchard Human Services, Inc. and Dr. Darleen Claire Wodzenski. Some books are already available on Amazon ... others are currently being prepared for release.
